Unfortunately, when most people hear the name Ronson they think of Lindsay Lohan and her girlfriend (are they on or off now?) and the drama that follows. But aside from the tabloid favorite there’s a Ronson in fashion who puts out killer threads every season.
I had the pleasure of attending the Charlotte Ronson Show during Fashion Week and was delighted by the hair and makeup and her ability to work so well with her team to create a flawless look from head to toe. Ronson worked with Sebastian Professional to create the slicked back casual ponytail that we raved about post show. From the runway to starring in the Sebastian Professional advertising campaign the duo can’t be stopped. |

Alicia Piller has designed many things – bags, paintings, and even candy boxes. But her most prized possession has been the birth of her own business, Designs by Alicia P.
It all started four years ago when Alicia was laid off from an unfulfilling design job. Realizing that she could make more money doing what she loved, she decided to launch a line of paintings, suede & beaded jewelry, and hand-painted clothing; all made by Alicia P. herself. But she didn’t stop there. Each garment has intricately arranged letters, shapes and lines…on washable fabric paint. And her jewelry intertwines crystals and semi-precious beads creating lightweight suede works of art. “My works appeals to literally everyone – the young and the old,” says Alicia. When asked which is her favorite to design, Alicia excitedly screams: “Couture! I love to make weird and crazy elaborate things. I really enjoy painting free-hand designs too – I can let my mind go wherever it wants.” |

These days it seems like there is a day for everything from administrative assistants to iced coffee (no really, it was last week and I enjoyed a few too many that day!) So when I heard that in celebration of National Zipper Day, Tommy Hilfiger and Vera Wang would be teaming up with Zpr Bags to create the world’s longest handbag for charity, I wasn’t surprised. |

Spring 09′ is by far one of the most extreme seasons to date, especially when it comes to which trends are ruling the streets of NYC. The runways have taken a surprising bi-polar turn for the better. From itty bitty minis to huge floral prints and monochrome days mixed with rainbow bright nights, shopping has become not only a fashion buffet, but a fun fiasco of moods and trends that can be suiting for just about everyone. Whether you love fashion or not its safe to say that it will be very hard to be caught on our fashion faux paux list.
With that said here are a few simple tips on how to keep it sassy and fresh all season long. |

You’ve heard of the fashion police, you know…those imaginary enforcers of the laws of fashion. If only they’d been around for those embarrassing high school photos when everything just couldn’t be bright enough or big enough!
Well now there’s a new sheriff in town and he goes by the name AminoGenesis and he’s here not to prevent those fashion faux paux but to arrest your…wrinkles! That’s right, Wrinkle Arrest is the latest moisturizing day cream from AminoGenesis. Chock full of amino acids and SPF 18, it’s the perfect moisturizer to bring you into the warmer months. Wrinkle Arrest helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration and other signs of aging. While also supporting proteins like collagen and elastin as well as many other key proteins found in the skin. It’s also earned the AAD SEAL OF RECOGNITION from the American Academy of Dermatology for its sun-protection benefit. |
Earth Day Celebrations!

After a recent vacation to San Francisco, unofficially the hippie capital of the country, I was inspired by the constant green efforts around me. Recycling is standard procedure everywhere and composting is becoming frequent in households, everyone uses their own bags, most coffee shops and restaurants use recyclable to-go containers, etc. It’s really a solid effort that doesn’t stop at the individual but transcends throughout the entire city. In celebration of Earth Day, Wednesday April 22nd, everyone is making an effort to make positive eco-changes across the board. From restaurants to beauty brands, Earth Day is a big deal this year.

We wandered in for coffee and chai tea during an afternoon stroll on Avenue A and didn’t have a clue we were walking into a mecca of eco friendly delights. Energized after our lattes, (and the best chocolate brownie!) we perused Sustainable NYC and were thrilled by the array of cool merchandise that’s been created from recycled, reused, eco friendly, fair trade and natural resources. |
