Dirty Dancing is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The ’80s cult classic film inspired an amazing Dirty Dancing makeup palette from indie brand Sola Look. The palette is packaged like an old school VHS — remember those?! – complete with iconic images from the film’s most sizzling dance sequences. The palette contains eyeshadows, a highlighter, and a liquid lipstick. The products are quality and the colors are so summer-ready – I guarantee you’ll have the time of your life with them. But it’s the references to the film that are the best thing about this palette.
My favorite is Back to the Playpen, a dusty blue matte shadow, and Johnny Castle, a matte black shadow named after the film’s hunky hero. Those two insanely blendable, silky shadows pair beautifully for a steely smoky eye. The liquid lippie is named Baby, after the film’s heroine, and it’s a brick red that smells delish like vanilla cupcakes. It also stays and slays all day. It dries down light and wears comfortably – there is no thick, crusty and cakey matte nonsense here!
