Matte liquid lipsticks are one of the major trends of the past two years. Every brand has a matte offering and they come at all price points. The latest to land on my lips is Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Color. For a budget brand, Rimmel delivers primo color payoff and wears comfortably. Long-wear isn’t really my personal goal when it comes to mattes; in fact, I don’t like to eat with lip color on and usually remove it, eat, and then re-apply. These last long enough but they also remove easily when you want to take off, eat, and then re-apply without irritating lips too, too much. They also dry down to a non-crusty, non-streaky finish – two common problems with liquid mattes that you won’t deal with here. Blush is a rosy pink, while Moca is a beige-y nude.
If you don’t want to shell out cash on Kylie Lip Kits, these will do the trick. They hug lips, have a velvet texture, and a light caramel x floral scent without being heavy. These are the perfect summer mattes.
