Run, don’t walk, to Sephora (or point and click) to scoop up Kat Von D’s Shade & Light Eye Contour Quads. There are four shade themes – Plum, Rust, Sage, and Smoke, which are self-referencing and tell you exactly what the shadows look like. The mini palettes contain four coordinated eye shadows in sleek and chic, matte black cases. You can easily build smoky, contoured eyes, since the quads come packaged with directions! But you don’t have to follow them. You can totally go rogue and do your own thing.

These quads allow for mistake-proof smoky eyes and the buildable colors have a rich, highly pigmented, and velvety texture. It’s eye shadow nirvana, really. Thanks, KVD, for another “must own” palette.

I have already espoused my love for Glossier’s Boy Brow and its tinted foundation. Now, Glossier Phase 2 makeup products have made their way into my makeup bag and AM routine. The Stretch Concealer is buildable, so you can use it to even out your skin or as a heavy duty blemish corrector. I like the dewy finish and I don’t feel like my face is caked in cover up because I can choose how much to use and for what corrective purpose. Its stretch consistency was engineered to move with skin, too. Oh, how I love makeup technology.

Also, the brand’s Generation G lipsticks are spring and summer perfection! They apply smoothly and creamily like a gloss, they look and last like a stain, and add a gorgeous, natural flush to lips! I mean, what more could you ask from a lip product?!

The Generation Gs are matte, come in four shades, and are pigmented enough to serve as the only color your wear on your face for the day. They will brighten your visage wonderfully.

You will want one in every bag this summer.

Ardency Inn’s offerings epitomize the downtown, NYC rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle, something I have lived since my early 20s! That is why it’s one of my most favorite brands. Duh. But the Punker Rock On Waterproof Liquid Liner is my new BFF, not because it’s long-lasting, blacker-than-night, and has the type of flexible felt tip that lets you to wing it with your cat eye. It’s the love of my life because of the metal horns graphic on the packaging. In all seriousness, my fave thing about the formula is how you can layer it over sheer, powder shadow and it remains dark and defined. Sometimes, when closing my lid, shadow can transfer and cause my black liquid line to look faded. That doesn’t happen here. Punker Rock On also lasts almost as long as a tattoo. For late nights or important occasions, that’s the main quality you want and need in a liquid liner.

Makeup artisan Jillian Dempsey aka Mrs. McDreamy has launched her Jillian Dempsey Lid Tints and they are beautiful, sheer, and glossy. I have always wanted that wet look lid you see in so much fashion editorial but it never feels easy or practical to do. The Lid Tints allow you to achieve that wet-look wash. You can get the always-in-style plume of grey with Smoke.

Or add a super sheer wash of Bronze. You know where to find me — playing with these all summer.

Mother’s Day is next month, but it’s never too soon to start shopping for your beautiful mom. You can get her a functional, personalized makeup brush from MyMakeupBrushes.com and she will be forever grateful. She will think of you every time she swipes a little blush or powder over her beautiful face with one of the brand’s fluffy brushes with personalized wooden handles. I love the black, matte handle brush with “Best Mom <3” stamped on it in gold lettering. Note: These brushes are not vegan; they are made of pony and sable hairs. The bristles are luxe and lush and feel wonderfully divine when swept across the face, though. The brushes come in full-sized and as travel sets or as separates. They are also perfect for any makeup artist in your life or as customized gifts for bridesmaids in wedding parties! Or you can just get your own damn name on ’em because you’re a girl boss.

LifeCell’s +Maxi Lip Lip Plumping Treatment gets the job done. Yes, there is some tingling upon application and your pout is plumped with megawatt, pretty pink shine. If you’re not interested in going under the needle for lip injections and fillers, fake it with this baby.
