Alright ladies, the tables have turned. Last year about this time I was getting measured in my scanties in a Bridesmart in Texas for about 18 million bridesmaids dresses. In last year’s Bridal Issue I happened to say that brides should recognize how much we love them to put up with all of the poking and prodding from older seamstresses named Enid. Soooo…I’m getting married next month and I have a new respect for this whole bride thing. And, no matter what they say, I am trying not to drive my bridesmaids crazy. Ah, the plight. But I will tell you that I was stressing about what to give them as a gift – one is a makeup artist, one doesn’t wear makeup, etc. So I put the call out and narrowed down my favorite cosmetic gifts for you. One less thing for you to do!

We’ll start with the queen of weddings. Bobbi Brown’s look is ideal for a fresh, clean face and her new limited edition Bridal Palette is perfect for fair to medium skin tones. Two shadows, two lip colors, and a blush live in a huge compact with an equally huge mirror. It’s easy for your girl to throw in her bag en route to the church to do her whole face.

For the ultimate in portability check out Jane Iredale’s Lip Kit. Inside are six mini tubes of sheer, shimmery gloss that range from Soft Peach to Black Currant. They’re great shades for every skintone and there’s even a lip plumper to give a camera ready pout!

For the angel in your group, Halo Effect Illuminator in Golden Potion from Origins is a match made in heaven. Cheekbones, browbones, and collarbones will all glow with a sunny shine while rosemary and sage soothe the skin.

There’s always one girl who has every color under the sun and doesn’t need another shade of lipstick. But I bet she has eyebrows! And who doesn’t need help with those? Anastasia’s All About Brows 6 Piece Brow Kit has everything – stencils, tweezers, angled brush, brow gel, brow powder, and a highlight stick for under the brow. It comes in three shades so it works for everyone.

If you, or one of your girls, is a nature lover then you probably are already an Aveda fan. Their Essentials Environmental Compact holds one lip color along with either two eye and one cheek color or a face powder. It’s recycled, it’s refillable, and there’s a real personal aspect to picking out the colors.

The one thing she will have to be reapplying all night is her lipcolor. MYR’s two new Two Tier Lip Kit has everything she’ll want with four ceramide infused lipsticks and 2 sheer glosses with gold shimmer. They’re all neutral shades that work for everyone and the kit is tiny enough to take along for the night. Call 718.768.2771 to order.

There’s always one. The girl who doesn’t wear makeup. I don’t understand her either, but we must not judge, but love and accept. And deck her out in some serious body oil from Nars. Their Monoi Body Glow II gives an amazing sheen to the skin and an even more amazing fragrance – refined coconut oil and the native tiare flower from Tahiti.

Your flower girl will love Benefit’s Decked Out Dandelion with its two soft shadows, lipstick, and Dandelion blush. Included are two brushes and the knowledge that this is something she’ll use again and again.

One of the ultimate beauty gifts, in my opinion, is to take your favorite girls down to Henri Bendel’s and have them pick out their favorite eye and cheek colors, shimmer, powder, and brushes to put in one of Trish McEvoy’s Luxury Leather Planners. The planners come in black, pink, turquoise, and orange so you can even work in your wedding colors. Call 1-800-HBENDEL or stop by the store at 712 5th Avenue.

We picked out their dress, now we can pick out something else for them to put on. With these gifts you’re guaranteed that they’ll wear them again!
