Bobbi Brown is known for two things: creating excellent everyday makeup, and not wearing it. Her approach to make up epitomizes the philosophy where one buys the best products to give that well rested, farm girl flush look. However, this season she’s gone out on a limb to give us a little drama, hence the Sexy Glamour Palette.

The sleek black box is just a touch bigger than the iPod video, clearly though, you don’t look at the contents, you wear them so others will look at you. Given her talent for creating concealers and neutral shadows, most might have doubted her ability to create a glam holiday compact, but fear not, she’s succeeded once again.

This is the perfect compact for the holidays because it can accommodate anyone. The sleek kit is comprised of a color palette that encompasses the most popular car colors – red, black, and silver. There’s a deep, berry-red lip gloss, a black shadow come liner, and two shadows, silver and pearly white. They work on all women, white, Hispanic, black, Native American, or Asian, and on women of most ages, from 15 to 55. Everyone will channel their inner drama queen when they apply the matte lip gloss, though I’d recommend a light application of lip balm and neutral pencil to prevent uneven fading. The shadows open up any eye and the black liner is an excellent product if you’re talented enough to have mastered the infamous smoky eye.

If you are going home for the New Year, lighten that Judith Leiber bag and ask your mom to carry the glam kit to the holiday party, just make sure she doesn’t clip it.
