Everyone wants to have great skin and rock flawless makeup, and it doesn’t come as easily for everyone. That doesn’t mean it’s impossible.

Perfecting your beauty routine takes research, knowledge, and practice in order to achieve a perfect harmony. We here at Beauty News NYC consider ourselves a part of your beauty and glam squad, and are happy to provide you with our first-person experience and expertise when it comes to products and trends. But even we have extra resources to build our knowledge and information base.

Makeup can be fun for experimenting, but skin care may not be. It can be both costly and irritating.

You should do some research to find out more about your skin type and which products best suit you. Here are two invaluable resources you should always have on hand!

This complete skin care quiz will fit you into one of 16 categories. The categories factor your budget and specific skin type.

Everyone who knows me knows this is my go-to site. Products are debunked, demystified and given to you straight. You will find out what drugstore brands and luxury items are identical in ingredients and you can get a deeper analysis from their ingredient expert teams.

It even comes equipped with an ingredient directory, so any products you currently own, you learn their functions. It’s certainly a resource that offers supplemental information so that I can be educated in the products that I recommend to my clients and my readers here at Beauty News NYC!

I leave you with this. The subject of skin care and makeup application is just like any other knowledge in the world. It takes some time and willingness to learn. Not everything you read about or see will work for your skin, so you might as well avoid the hype and marketing around products and save your self hundreds to thousands of dollars over time.

Happy New Year!
