By Kerry Malouf

This month, our expert, celebrity makeup artist Kerry Malouf prepares us for that sun-kissed glow from head to toe that every woman covets and desires in the warm, dewy months.

“Summer is quickly approaching and it’s time to get in touch with your inner glow as well as your outer shine,” Malouf says. “Everybody looks better with a little color and color is in! The good news is you don’t need a trip to St. Bart’s to get that beachy bronzed skin.” Your Chloe wallet and maxed out credit cards will thank you, as you can create a sun-smooched look with a simple cache of products. Malouf and beauty editor Amy Sciarretto are both raving about Josie Maran’s earth-friendly like, so much so that Maran was profiled in this month’s Hot Seat Q&A and Malouf employed Maran’s products to create this gorgeous, to-die-for look. While April 22 was Earth Day, we at Beauty News belief that every day is Earth Day and that green initiatives must be promoted beyond the month of April.

“This look is great for golden healthy skin any time of the year,” Malouf said. She used very little product to achieve Zoe’s sun-kissed glow from head to toe. “I have been inspired by Josie Maran Cosmetics.
She is based out of California and my belief goes hand-in-hand with her Global Green support. Plus I love her clean formulas and colors.”

For this cover shoot, Malouf hydrated and treated the model’s skin with a few drops of Maran’s organic Argan Oila Best Bet from last month’s issue – which is grown in Morocco. The stuff is amazing, which is why we’ve been raving about it for two issues in a row. “I then applied Daily Sun Protection SPF 40 to protect her skin from environmental damage as we were shooting in Malibu on the beach,” Malouf said.

“Next I applied Josie Maran Tinted Moisturizer to even out her skin tone for a sexy natural glow,” Malouf said. She gushes and raves about Maran’s bronzing powder, deeming it “fabulous!” Malouf swept the product across Zoe’s cheeks, on her forehead, neck and chest, giving her just that right amount of color on those points that the sun naturally hits. “I used Finger Paints in Lovely on her eyes and to highlight her cheeks bones,” the artist reveals.

She then framed the model’s eyes by smudging her lashlines with charcoal liner pencil, “which creates smoky eyes in a snap,” Malouf says. “I then applied a light layer of masacra on the top and bottom lashes. Lastly, Argan Oil-Infused Lipstick in Birthday Suit and added Natural Volume Lip Gloss in Precious for shine.”

Malouf also darkened Zoe’s skin with the Argan Bronzing Oil all over her body for instant moisture and a tan shimmer. All you need to do is look at the photo to see how sexy this look is. Do the dew!

Now head on over to our Hot Seat Q&A in this month’s issue to read more about Maran and her line.
