Porcelain Doll

Not only is Maybelline New York everywhere on the runways this season, I also used Maybelline at the photo shoot for Joe’s Jeans.

Joe’s Jeans was hosting a photo shoot at Smashbox Studios, featuring the finalists of the brand’s search for the next Spokesmodel for Joe’s Jean’s. Each girl got a complete makeover by a full style team, which included the Joe’s Jeans Creative Director, Makeup Artist (me!), hairstylist and fashion stylist.

The model in this photo is one of the finalists in the competition. My inspiration for her was to make her look like a porcelain doll with flawless skin, which wasn’t hard, because her skin was so beautiful to begin with!

I created her look using all Maybelline New York products. Having worked with the brand this past winter and summer, I’ve come to fall in love with their colors and formulas. I used Arcona Triad Pads to clean her face. These amazing pads clean, tone and hydrate the skin all in one! I use them on myself daily, as well as on models at my shoots. I then hydrated her skin by massaging in Clarins Multi-Active Day Early Wrinkle Correction Cream, because I love how the formula absorbs, and hey, it’s never too early to fight wrinkles!

I evened out her skin with Maybelline New York Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Foundation in Ivory. It’s smooth, it covers and it’s layerable. I then applied the Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Concealer in Ivory. I use concealers like an eraser to add additional coverage under the eyes and to any other areas where needed. I then added Mineral Powder Luminious Blush in Fresh Plum on her cheeks. As the final face highlight, I added Mineral Power Illuminator All-Over Sheer Shimmer in Nude and in Pink to give her skin a perfect glow.

For her eyes, I gave her a light sexy look by using the Stylish Smokes Eye Shadow Quad in Natural Smokes and lined her eyes with Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Liner in Black. I added individual fake eyelashes and finished her eyes by layering Maybelline New York Great Lash BIG Mascara in Blackest Black.

Her lips have that natural pout, and I wanted to keep the focus on them. I painted them using Color Sensational in Very Cherry.

This shoot was a memorable one! I love how our team helped transform these girls into supermodels, as they all looked and felt amazing. I can’t wait to find out who won as they were all so beautiful in their own special way.

Your makeup looks the very best when the skin is exfoliated and hydrated and it’s the right time of year to be doing exactly that! After cleansing use the Raspberry Resurfacing Peel Repair AM/PM Mask by Arcona, followed by the Tea Tree Hydrating Mash, also by Arcona. Your skin will have an instant, fresh, noticable Glow!
