Benefit Cosmetics is always a favorite with the fashion-forward set – innovative products, gorgeous colors, and the chuckle-worthy names. This fall, for the busy chick-on-the-go, Benefit brings us “Roadside Attractions ” lip and eye palettes: a color collection of sophisticated-yet-glam neutral shades, perfect for tossing into your purse while running out the door.

Per usual, the palette packaging itself is a work of art. The covers are festooned with pulp-comic-esque illustrations featuring appropriately retro femme fatales behind the wheel. On the inside, your face is reflected back at you in a small rearview mirror. Have I mentioned that the palette itself is magnetized, so we can avoid the mayhem of makeup-spillage in our bags? Genius!

“…ex’s make great speedbumps” lip palette contain three glossy lip creams in shades of glazed pecan. “…nice ride” is a trio of berry-hued lip creams. The colors are all rather sheer, giving a natural-looking tint to your lips – “Your Lips But Better”, so to speak. The texture is light and creamy, and nicely moisturizing; not overly sticky or thick.

“…my meter’s running” is a three-color palette featuring cappuccino-hued eye shadows, ranging from cream to coffee. “… is this going to take long” are shadows in shades of rich, golden sands. These palettes are loaded with shimmer and are extremely durable – I wore these shadows throughout the recent hellish NYC heat wave, and had not a smear or crease. Any eye makeup that can last through 95-degree temperatures gets a big thumbs-up from me!

You can purchase these lovely palettes wherever Benefit is sold –, Sephora locations, major department stores, and more. Be sure to check for the location nearest you!
