Beauty

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and every year, we here at Beauty News feature a massive round up products that support this critical cause while making you look beautiful. Of course the emphasis is on bringing awareness to and raising money for a cure, and the fact that you look gorgeous at the same time is just an added perk.

This year we’ve decided to do a BCA edition of Best Bets, where we’ve rounded up some key lip products across all companies and spectrums that do their part for BCA! There’s something for ALL of you, and there are even some makeupistas who will want to try all of these items. There are dozens and dozens of products out there; these were the favorites that landed on my desk!

These were my faves, in terms of color, texture and cause!

Everyday Minerals will donate 100 percent of the proceeds of its creamy-textured, rosy-hued, fragrance-free Between You and Me lipstick to the American Breast Cancer Foundation in order to support cruelty-free research efforts, so it’s a two-fer in terms of its charitable nature! The lipstick, which imparts tons of lip balm-like moisture on your pout, is vegan, eco-friendly, gluten-and-cruelty-free. So you can feel good about having such pretty pink lips! Dab with fingers, blot and you’ll look instantly kissable.

Shiseido is six years deep into its partnership with Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW), supporting their Cancer and Careers philanthropy, which aids working women living with cancer. The company is donating $5 for every Lacquer Rouge in Disco (RS404) sold in October. Disco is a rich, liquid lipstick that applies like a gloss with a wand, but the coverage is like that of lipstick. It’s the hottest of pinks, and it has shine, and you will look like a bombshell when wearing it. More importantly, you will feel better about helping women afflicted with cancer.

jane iredale is on its fifth year of supporting Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC), a national education and support organization that empowers all women affected by breast cancer to live with the best quality of life. The company will donate 100 percent of the proceeds of the Cherish Lip Fixation to LBBC for an entire year. Hold on. We stopped to give jane iredale a round of applause for a sustained, long-term commitment to a cure. Cherish is a two-in-one lip stain in BCA’s signature pink hue and is loaded with soothing, pampering botanicals. Glaze lips with the pink stain, then top with the clear, sparkly gloss for ultimately shiny lips. It also comes packaged with a pink-trimmed, clear pouch with a high-heel charm. Fabulous!

Coach Poppy Limited Edition Breast Cancer Awareness Lip Gloss Set is a five-gloss collection available only at Ulta. Featuring a handful of universally wearable shades –Shell, Ginger, Coral, Pink and Rose– you can tote them all in one bag…provided you are like me and carry a big bag and dozens of vials of gloss tend to congregate at the bottom! Coach Fragrances will donate 20 percent of the SRP of every set sold to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The sets are available through the end of the year. If you are a Coach gal, then pick these up and do your part.
