Bridal Beauty - Bohemian

By Erin Williams

The Bohemian Bride is unconventional, choosing bold artistic colors and the texture of glossy glosses. A Bohemian wedding would have a combination of funky flowers and glowing candles. This bride’s makeup would be as unexpected as the décor.

Eyes:
Tony & Tina Therapeutic Eye Base. We all know that no bride sleeps well the night before her wedding. This base evens out discoloration under the eyes and helps to reduce and camouflage fine lines. Remember ladies, there will be close-up pictures as well.

Tony & Tina Cosmic Light Formula. Try Vortex for an enchanting emerald shimmer. Green is the most underused eye shadow. With the right shade for your skin tone you can make brown eyes pop and blue eyes sparkle with oceanic hues. Go for a dusting across the lid and just under the bottom lashes.

Tony & Tina Herbal Eye Pencil and Mascara. We recommend black liner, but the Olive shade works if you don’t need strong definition. Mascara should always be applied subtly at first, adding and smudging where you need it for your particular eye shape and size. It’s also the first step in creating drop dead gorgeous lashes.

Kevin Aucoin Lash Curling Mascara. The protein based formula won’t flake or smudge, but it will plump up and lengthen your lashes and even give them a little curl. All eye products available at www.sephora.com

Cheeks:
Benefit Powder. You wanna take it easy here with a light dusting. A fairer skinned beauty should go for Georgia, which warms your complexion. Darker skinned babes opt for Hoola, giving you a more bronzed Hawaiian sun-kissed look. Comes with its own brush, too!

Lips:
Bloom Lipglaze. This super hydrating gloss comes in 12 different colors. Choose a subtle shimmer or a full on glaze for a polished but not too made up mouth.

Fragrance:
Hanae Mori Women’s Eau de Toilette. Hanae Mori, the great lady of Japanese fashion and Parisian haute couture, introduced this fragrance in 1996. This subtle composition of berries and flowers with a distinctive tone of strawberries and almond make this a classy, winning alternative to patchouli.

Bridal Beauty - Bohemian

This bridal look is more avant-garde and full of fun, unexpected details. The Funky/Bohemian bride might wear Cavali, YSL or a colored unconventional wedding dress complete with gorgeous, unique details. Makeup should fit with the theme of expect the unexpected yet beautiful.

Eyes:
Play with a distinctive 10-color gel eyeliner palette, from Madina Milano ($30; www.madina.it). This palette which strongly resembles a watercolor set from elementary school, is everything but elementary. Full of wearable browns and a perfect black as well as out-there shades such as hot pink, orange and green this palette will take care of any color whim. The only drawback is that you may be late for your big day as you play with all the colors!

A fun and funky option that is sure to dazzle and add offbeat sexiness to your look is Urban Decay’s Stoned false lashes with crystalline beads attached ($11; www.urbandecay.com). If false lashes are too extreme try Kevyn Aucoin Volume Mascara in black ($25; 866-775-3896).

When playing with funky eyeliner and lashes it is good to keep the eye shadow color simple and understated. Try applying a fine wash of Nars Single Eye Shadow in Night Star ($18; www.sephora.com).

Cheeks:
Stick with a simple understated blush of color when making big color commitments elsewhere on your face. Try a simple powder blush such as Giorgio Armani’s Sheer Blush #2 ($34; Saks Fifth Avenue 800-347-9177) provides a fine mist of warm pink. Or to add a little sparkle but still maintain an understated look try Stila’s All Over Shimmer in shade #5 ($28; www.gloss.com) a warm tawny shimmer.

Lips:
With the color focus centered on the eyes, lips should be sheer hints of burgundy and berry. Some of my favorites for this look include the wet-look of Estee Lauder’s Lip Vinyl in Vinyl Berry ($20; www.esteelauder.com). Urban Decay’s wonderful feeling, infinitely sexy XXX Shine Cooling Lip Gloss in Love Junkie ($15; www.urbandecay.com) and Stila’s yummy smelling, super glossy Lip Glaze in plum ($24; www.gloss.com) will be a big treat on the big day. Stila founder Jeanine Lobell initially created Lip Glaze for Cameron Diaz’s character in Charlie’s Angels and she liked it so much that we get to enjoy this easy to use fruity, shiny gloss.

Fragrance:
Escada’s Ibiza Hippie ($ 25-68; sephora.com), a sugary, sultry combination of fruity and floral notes will satisfy all your boho tendencies while still remaining extremely feminine.

Also the Funky/Bohemian bride smells exotic in Angel Innocent ($20-70; www.sephora.com) a lighter version of Thierry Mugler’s signature vanilla/chocolate scent.
