Beauty

Weddings are serious business these days. So much work, so many preparations, all for just one, utterly fabulous, day. The Beauty News solution? Delegate, delegate, delegate. Hire professionals whenever possible and simplify your life! One of our favorite salons in the city is Paul Labrecque. A clean, modern, luxurious full service salon, Labrecque offers a full range of bridal services including hair, makeup, sunless tans, manicures, pedicures and massages for city brides-to-be.

We sat down with Wedding Coordinator Jessica Steinman to get the down low on bridal beauty services at this haute haven. Some tips for brides to be:

- Aim to book your wedding appointment at least two months in advance but don’t hesitate to call closer to the event if necessary – remember, the salon is there to work with you and to simplify your day.

- If your budget allows, consider hiring your makeup artist and hair stylist for outcall visits to your hotel or home. You’ll feel more relaxed and the efficiency is worth the splurge. Labrecque’s staff has gone everywhere from the Upper West Side (quite the trek, no?) to a private island in the Caribbean.

- Give your stylist or makeup artist as much information to work with as possible. Bring a photo of your wedding dress, tear sheets from your favorite bridal magazines and communicate with your stylist and makeup artist about both your everyday look and your desired bridal look. Think. Are you classic? Modern? Fashion forward? Key words will help them craft the right look for you.

Steinman’s three must have beauty products for every bride:

Blinc’s Kiss Me Mascara is a solidly waterproof formula, so when the inevitable tears come, your eye makeup won’t budge.

LipFusion’s Color Shine Gloss gives a natural, yet enhanced pucker for that first kiss as man and wife.

Just a spritz of Biologique Recherche L’Eauxygénante Oxygen Spray gives a fresh, dewy look to skin and can be used over a full face of makeup.

Paul Labrecque is located at 171 East 65th Street. Call 212-988-7816 for an appointment.
