Summer vacation has come to a screeching halt. You’re trolling your favorite boutiques in search of new fall clothes, and slowly packing away your sexy summer tank tops. But what does this mean for your gorgeous summer tan? You know what’s coming: the fade is about to occur. The dreadful, not always gradual dissipation we strive so hard to avoid by using self tanners, spf lotions with as little spf in them as possible (yet we still feel like we’re being good because at least it has SOME protection in them, right?). Yes, we love our glowing, tanned skin, it’s the truth few of us actually voice. More specifically, we love tanning our faces. Nothing makes you feel healthier and sexier than bronze blushed cheeks.

Your share in the Hampton’s is over, so start preparing for skin that is a shade or more lighter than what you are now. For this transitional season, the best foundation for your skin is one that lets your natural skin color show through. Enter the tinted moisturizer. Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer, available in 7 shades, is sheer enough to blend with your natural skin tone, yet also gives you a hint of color. With SPF 20 (because we do need to protect our skin and block both UVA and UVB rays), it’s formulated for all skin types and provides hydration with a light coverage for that “no makeup-look.”

If more coverage is your schtick, Liquid Canvas Dew Finish Radiant Glow Foundation by Vincent Longo is not only a mouthful, it’s for you. The formula contains Vitamin E and Ester C for anti-aging benefits, SPF 15, as well as aloe vera and chamomile, which soothe and hydrate the skin. Available in 8 shades of “just what your skin is craving” after all the summer sun exposure.

Most importantly, to keep the glow of long after the trees have turned to golden amber and fiery sienna in Central Park, follow your foundation application with bronzer. Using a brush specially designed for applying bronzer, touch your skin where the sun would naturally: on the cheekbones, a little on the top of the nose, your chin. Also get it where the sun doesn’t hit, in that white triangle on your neck, just under your chin, so your neck will match your face. Try the Matte Bronze Light bronzing powder, if you have normal to oily skin, or the Illuminating Stick in Golden Honey Glow, if you are dry, both by Laura Mercier.

There ya go, extending that summer sun-kissed look isn’t that difficult at all. Remember to hydrate, blend, and wear sheer colors on your skin to let your natural color show through. Letting your summer tan gracefully fade away is more tolerable with great products!

Laura Mercier products are available at www.lauramercier.com and Vincent Longo is available at www.Sephora.com.
