Jessi Malay is a musician and a beauty blogger! So, yes, she is extremely creative! Check out her music by watching her video for “The Edge” here. Now that you have made her musical acquaintance, why don’t you get to know her beauty philosophy?

Malay also reveals her winter skin secret weapon —it looks dirty, but smells great— and shares how she has banished blemishes on her beautiful olive skin! Oh, and she also pulled back the curtain on how she babies her skin and pampers her hair even while on the road and performing.

BN: Tell us your Twitter-sized bio — who you are and what you do in 140 words or characters, if you wanna be daring, since we know it’s hard. Go!
JM: Ahh, that’s a challenge! I’m Jessi Malay, a singer, dancer, fashion and beauty blogger that’s in love with love, life and late nights!

BN: What is the ONE makeup/color product you cannot live without?
JM:I can’t live without Beaux Cosmetics Moisturizing Lipstick in Cannes. It’s the perfect nude/peach shade that is neither too matte or glossy!

BN: Give us one universal beauty or makeup tip that can be applied to all women, regardless of their age, skintone or eye color!
JM:Always curl your eyelashes!!! Sometimes, when I’m rushing out of the house with no makeup on, the one thing I absolutely will not neglect to do is curling my lashes. It makes everyone look more awake.

BN: Winter sucks. Skin is dry, sallow. Air is dry. Lips are chapped. Do you have some winter beauty tips to keep fab, fresh and glam despite the doldrums?
JM:Coffee Scrub. During the winter, it’s even more important to exfoliate and I’ve been using this amazing scrub made out of coffee grinds called Kave Body Scrub! It actually hydrates skin as it exfoliates, leaving you with a silky smooth complexion and it smells like heaven. I literally have to resist tasting it every time I use it… weird, I know.

BN: What’s your favorite luxe product?
JM:I have olive skin and just about anything, from a blemish to too much time in the sun, can leave my face full of dark spots. For the last three months, I’ve been using Hi-Vitamin C Brightening Serum by Ling New York, and my dark spots have radically disappeared, I haven’t gotten any new blemishes and my skin hasn’t felt this soft since before puberty. This product has literally changed my life! It’s $80 for a small bottle, but it goes a long way and is worth every drop!

BN: How about your favorite bargain cheapie?
JM: e.l.f. gel eyeliner from Target! It goes on really smoothly, stays put, and is only about $4. It comes with it’s own little liner brush, too.

BN: Tell us a little about your music career, too. If you have to go on the road or on tour, what are the three essential products you’d pack?
JM:I’ve been singing and dancing my whole life, and touring off and on since I was 14. Life on the road can be really rough on the body and it’s even more imperative to take good care of your skin and hair as you travel. I absolutely cannot live without my Clarisonic and Deep Pore Cleansing Wash. It’s the only thing that can really remove all of my layers of stage makeup after I perform each night.

Because I’m also heat styling my hair everyday, I try to use a very deep conditioning masque at least twice a week. I love Kerastase Nutritive Masquintense Highly Concentrated Nourishing Treatment. It literally saves my hair.

Lastly, FALSE LASHES! I won’t even go on stage without them! I love to layer two strips and then sometimes even add a few individuals on top of that. I swear by Esqido mink lashes. You can literally reuse them 25 times!
