Gettin’ Wiggy Wit It

fiberwig.jpg

Allow me to brag for a moment. Blessed with naturally looooong, curly lashes (thanks, dad!), it’s rare that any mascara gives me any kind of visible boost. Until Imju Fiberwig, that is. This Japanese import uses a unique formulation of two fibers and beeswax (which protects, molds and enriches) to give the appearance of faux eyelashes. No fancy eye makeup remover necessary; simply remove with warm water. Available at select Sephora stores or at www.sephora.com

Embrasses-Moi

Luxe French cosmetics company Bourjois has just launched a new line of lusciously hydrating, water-drenched, and Vitamin E and glycerin enriched lip glosses dubbed Eau De Gloss. The glosses are packaged in adorable vintage style tubes and are non-sticky, something that’s decidedly essential during summer months when you want and need a breathable, lightweight lip product that doesn’t sacrifice shine. The coverage of the Eau De Glosses is quite similar to that of a liquid lipstick, glazing your pucker with plenty o’ color. You’ll feel a menthol tingle when you apply, followed by an airy, summer citrus scent. Eau De Glosses come in 8 shades, and our faves are Moka Frappe (a rosy beige), Eau Fraiche (clear), and Framboise Glacee.
Available at Sephora stores or at www.sephora.com

Wine Me

New from winemaking’s royal family, the Mondavis, is 29 Cosmetics, a full line of color enriched with a signature Grape Seed Age Protecting formula. Utilizing anti-oxidants, which protect skin from free radicals, 29 is first brand to incorporate vinotherapy ingredients into makeup. Try the I-Block Eye Shadow, a palette of four complementary shades that apply smoothly with beautiful color. Visit www.neimanmarcus.com to purchase

Miracle Worker

Nailtiques Formula 2 is by no means a new product, but it’s an essential for anyone with soft, weak or peeling nails. The exclusive and unmatched protein formula strengthens and reinforces nails almost immediately. Try it as a base and top coat with any manicure; as a bonus, Nailtiques Formula 2 dries quickly and prevents chipping, keeping your mani gorgeous all week. Visit www.drugstore.com to purchase.

Go Red!

justforredheadsmascara.jpg

We redheads are neither here nor there. Our eyelashes are blonde. Our eyebrows are not quite dark enough to be a true brown, and we’re generally pale as hell. It’s a tough life, being red.
Enter Just for Redheads, a brand of beauty products made for us gals who can stop traffic but can’t find anything to match our coloring. My favorites of the line were the Mascara, which thickened my eyelashes and colored them dark brown, and the T.V. Touch Concealer. This is the first concealer that is actually as light as I am, and did not turn me orange. The products have staying power, too – the lipsticks lasted a solid three hours.
