Retro Fab

Lip balms and glosses are frequently a gateway drug for beauty junkies. In fact, my first beauty obsession were Bonne Bell’s ageless, addictive Lip Smackers which, as every girl knows, come in fun flavors like Cotton Candy, Bubble Gum and of course, Dr.Pepper. But I digress.

For the grown up girls among us, On10 has launched an adorably packaged and delightfully formulated line of glosses exclusively at Sephora. These sophisticated, vintage-inspired gloss tins and tubes are the perfect addition to your lip wardrobe. Available gloss flavors include: Hershey’s Chocolate, Dr. Pepper and Schweppes. Color us obsessed yet again.

Mineral Magic

Laura Mercier jumps on the mineral bandwagon this spring with an edited line of finely milled, shimmering Mineral Eye and Cheek Colours. Try Brilliant Quartz for a neutral daytime eye that lasts and lasts. Also new are a lovely selection of Faux Lashes, available in full, center or corner. Conveniently packaged with a mini lash adhesive (cleverly tinted black to disappear on lids), the lashes are simple to use but for expert application, visit Mercier’s new Lash Bar exclusively at Henri Bendel, 712 Fifth Avenue. The full collection is also available online at www.sephora.com.

Glossy Goodness

Luxe handbag line Coach has dipped its toes into the beauty pool, expanding with a line of equally to-die-for lip glosses. The collection is available in three go-with-anything, fragrance free shades: Gardenia, Hibiscus, and Heather. Our fave is the peachy Gardenia, a juicy yet sheer neutral that glides on smoothly without any tackiness. These minimal glosses are absolutely a ‘must-have’ for the fashionistas among us thanks to the elegant designer tube embossed with the iconic Coach “C.”

Exclusively at www.coach.com and at Coach boutiques.

Get the Blues

chanel_spring.jpg

This season, Chanel’s Directors of Makeup Creation (yes, that would be an official title) Dominique Montcourtois and Heidi Morawetz were inspired by the clean, airy colors of spring – a spectrum of bright blues, soft pinks, and opalescent whites. Key products that can’t be missed are the Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Luna, a white shimmer that adds highlights to cheeks, eyes and more and the newest must-have Le Vernis Nail Colour, Blue Satin. This glossy, shimmering deep blue is as versatile as a neutral for those daring enough to wear it.

Available at www.chanel.com.

Lip of Luxury

Capped with a faceted faux gem, Too Faced’s new champagne- infused Lip of Luxury lipsticks are truly cause for celebration. These moisturizing lippies have a slightly glossy finish and eight bold colors to choose from. Try Runway Red for a true blue toned red or Cougar for a neutral, bronzey beige. Keep the tube handy, however, the glossy finish makes frequent reapplication a must.

Available at www.toofaced.com.
