Negative space manicures are becoming more and more popular because they look incredibly and effortlessly cool. In art, negative space is the space in between colors or designs. In case you’re unclear, here is what a negative space mani looks like. It really is proving to be one of the nail trends of 2016. Wanna try it? You know you do!

Celeb manicurist Gina Edwards for KISS Products offered some helpful advice on how to create this look at home and on your own. Yes, it’s entirely possible. Trust me, don’t be intimated. It’s easy and affordable.

“My key tips for creating crisp lines for negative space manicures is the KISS Design Perfection. The nail guides come in a few shapes so you can create precise lines and half-moon manicures,” Edwards says. “You can also use KISS striping tape from the KISS Salon Secrets Nail Art Starter Kit to create negative space manicures easily.”

Edwards finishes, “Additionally, to make a negative space manicure extremely easy, you can use The Collection by KISS and/or imPRESS Gel Manicure, which has pre-designed nails that you easily glue or press-on.”

See, I told you it was easy.

These products are available at Walgreens, CVS, and other drugstores. So they are both inexpensive and accessible if you want to practice and play. If you are still intimidated by the thought of creating this look on your own, then just grab these suggested tools and take them to your nail tech or your usual nail salon. The manicurist will be able to create the look you desire.

Go ahead, embellish and accessorize those digits beautifully with negative space designs. These products are unique and positively simple apply in minutes. They’ll last up to a week, and are easy to remove when you are dunzo with them.

Have fun with your negative space manis. Show me what you end up with, we want to see them! We’ll even showcase them on our Facebook page.
