Space NK apothecary, long a destination in the UK, has landed on American shores. Offering an eclectic mix of the high end beauty products from both instantly recognizable and more niche brands, the store opened in June in SoHo.
Founded by Nicky Kinnaird in 1996, Space NK has grown from a one-shop apothecary in Covent Garden, UK, to a 50-store international chain, selling a well-edited selection of beauty goodies. The New York store resembles all international boutiques – airy, linear, and filled with light.
Space NK sells over 50 select specialty brands, as well as the brand’s proprietary signature collections. With the opening of the New York City flagship, Space NK also introduced several skincare brands exclusive to the retailer and never before sold in the US. These include Eve Lom, developed by the celebrated London-based aesthetician, Zelens, developed by Italian skin cancer specialist Dr. Marko Lens (see our Skincare section this month for a story on this fabulous line), pharmacist-developed Lola Kelly, German research-based Pro-Ferm, French ar457 specializing in the unique regenerative properties of Argan Oil from Morocco, organic skincare by Huiles & Baumes in the French Alps and SheerinO’kho, ethical skincare developed by a French biochemist based on the principles of environmental cosmetology.
In addition to the 2,000 square foot selling floor, the Soho location also has two treatment rooms where clients can experience signature Eve Lom facials. Shoppers take note: Space NK’s American invasion is far from complete; the company plans to open five more stores in the tri-state area within the year.
Space NK is located at 99 Greene Street. Visit http://www.spacenk.com for more information or to shop online.
