Christmas, my lovelies, came in April! The Makeup Show, a beauty industry professionals-only trade event which is celebrating its 10th glorious anniversary this weekend in NYC, picked Beauty News NYC as one of a handful of tres exclusive outlets to play with the new products and tools housed in the What’s New Blogger Boxes and launching exclusively at The Makeup Show.

It’s my job to test new products and share my findings with you, but this? This, my little makeup mavens, was super special and sophisto because these items are so new they are practically zygotic.

Can you guys hang on a sec? I need to go in the other room and do a seal clap and jump up and down with joy so I don’t disturb my dog. BRB.

Okay, I’m back. Thanks for sticking around.

I have already incorporated several of the products into my daily routine. I didn’t fall in love with these products; I skydove!

These items are so new and exclusive that I had to shoot the photos myself.

Here’s the latest in makeup innovation coming to market near you soon.

Make Up For Ever’s Artist Shadow 1 Palette: Housed in a matte black case, this palette boasts nine shadows and an instruction booklet. While you can do three looks—Chic, Natural, and Smoky–I threw the instruction book over my head and behind me and mixed and matched through gut and instinct… or however the eye shadow spirits moved me. But if you’re a novice, this lets you craft neutral, smoky or fancy eye looks.

I used it to get Angelina Jolie’s coveted eye makeup look in Wanted.

London Brush Company James Vincent LTD. Edition Set: These brushes look like the pencils I used in Catholic grade school for math problems, thanks to the orange-y handles. The super soft fibers have an ombre cast; and you can get a good grip on these babies and blend like a milkshake. I’ve been using ’em with my MUFE palette (look upwards!) and I especially LURVE the bent eyeliner brushes, so I can achieve a cat that is Beyonce-level flawless. They look broken, but the bunk shape only enhances their value and let’s you really get all up in there for a close-to-the-lash line with a gel product. My heart belongs to James Vincent.

I Make You Beautiful Magic Touch Applicators: I adore Beauty Blenders for their purty egg shape but IMUB’s Magic Touch applications employ air compression technology. Science aside, the tool allows the product to get close to your face and to be buffed out to perfection. You can kontour like a Kardashian or a Kris Jenner daughter, or you can get a fresh, dewy finish. Wet, dry, cream, powder, whatever.

Crown Brush: Our Beauty Insider Samantha Lennon has often espoused the virtues of a Crown Brush. Me? As a MAC devotee, I was happy with my MAC tools… until these beauties landed in my hands. I can get a superior grip on the matte black handles, so there’s no slippage and no mistakes. Helloooo lover.

INGLOT: I got Kylie Jenner lips with the nude, matte lipstick in 428. It’s very dry and very matte, but it’s not drying. If you really want a gloss-free lip, this is the way to get it. I suggest balming before using, as this is lippie is as matte as it gets.

Mehron: The Cheek Powder/Cheek Cream palette is a blush-a-holics dry and wet dream… literally. There are many hues and both dry and moist formulations. While the colors look super concentrated in the pan, that Crown Brush helped me get turnt up or dialed down.

TEMPTU: This Limited Edition liquid bronzer in Terra Gold made me a little nervous since I am not into bronzaliciousness. So I mixed a few drops with my AM moisturizer for a little custom glow and my nerves disappeared and I glowed gorgeously.

Pinnacle Cosmetics: The Vinyl Lip Gloss in Soaked (rich, deep plum) and b.f.f. (very berry) is moisturizing yet very goth. If you like Lorde’s bordeaux lip, you can get it here.

Watch for these products to come to your favorite makeup store soon, and tell ‘em Beauty News NYC sent ya’!
