Do you miss the summertime yet? The humidity has recently stopped frizzing our hair, the fashion atrocities that come with the warmer months have bid us adieu yet we still find ourselves pining away for the warmer months.
There was certainly something about summer 2005 in the Big Apple, dining outdoors and all those rooftop parties where your friends made punch and tried to make sure nobody fell off the roof dancing wildly to LCD Soundsystem or The Scissor Sisters.
Well, BeautyNewsNYC and http://www.BarNoneDrinks.com are here to let you know that you can bring a little warmth into the fall (and winter) with some drinks that hearken back to those wild summer nights.
Here is BN’s Metro Living cocktails for October 2005. Enjoy! Don’t forget to spread the love (and the liquor)!
Vodka Daisy
Ingredients:
Juice of 1/2 Lemon
1/2 tsp. Powdered Sugar
1 tsp. Grenadine
2 oz. Vodka
Instructions:
Shake with ice and strain into a beer stein or mug. Add ice cubes and garnish with seasonal fruit.
Appled Rum Cooler
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz. Anejo Rum
1/2 oz. Applejack
2 tsp. Lime Juice
2 oz. Club Soda
Instructions:
Shake all except Club Soda with ice and strain into an old-fashioned glass almost filled with ice cubes. Top with the Club Soda.
Tequila Sunset
Ingredients:
1 oz. Tequila
Orange Juice
1/2 oz. Blackberry Brandy
Instructions:
Pour tequila into a collins glass filled with ice cubes. Fill with orange juice and stir well. Top with blackberry brandy and stir lightly. Garnish with a cherry and serve.
