As I finish up Week 2 of my resolution, I can’t say I’ve miraculously shed pounds and now look like Gisele Bà¼ndchen. (Unrealistic expectations, I know). However, I can say that keeping a food log has really increased my awareness of where I eat and what I eat. My food log has pointed out a few bad habits, like eating while standing up in front of the refrigerator, that needed to be corrected. Now, I comfortably eat meals seated at my kitchen table away from any distractions. |
The next hurdle I have to cross is one I’m dreading: my birthday. This one day of cake and ice cream usually becomes a whole week of indulgence. I need a plan of attack! So next week, instead of digging into leftover birthday cake when I need a snack, I’ll grab a granola bar. I’ll bring a few healthy snacks to work so I can eat in between meals. And then, when my birthday arrives, I’ll make sure the festivities only last one day. Not 8 long days of cupcake-filled goodness.
