Though New Years Day seems like ages ago, I’m still taking my resolution one day at a time. My birthday feast was a success, as it only lasted 24 hours rather than 24 days, and I can’t help but feel excited by all the new changes I’ve made. I’ve started looking up healthy variations of the recipes I love on Cookinglight.com. (Their spinach and artichoke dip has changed my life). I’ve also started eating more veggies and healthy snacks. (What? Wine isn’t one of the major food groups?) Overall, I’d say I’ve come pretty far in these short weeks.
Now, on to the tough stuff! While my eating is finally in check, I’d love to get my lazy butt to the gym. Even 20 minutes of cardio would make me happy – I’ve just got to get to the gym. My biggest problem is the -10 degree wind chill I feel every time I cross a city block. Once I get to my apartment, it’s like I’m a bear in hibernation. With a good pair of gloves, a fleece scarf, and a down jacket, I think I’d be able to get there. Or, I could find a good workout DVD that makes me break a sweat (any recommendations?). Either way, the next step in my new healthy life is a little exercise. ‘m sure my butt will thank me for this in a few weeks. |
