City Pulse

By Angela Eduarte

For those of you who work 9 to 5, I know you can feel my pain over the fact that there NEVER seems to be a salon open late. Sure we can try to squeeze in a mani/pedi or blow-out during our lunch break, but let’s face it – rushing around to get pampered leaves you feeling anything but. Hair Party 24 Hours solves this problem and more by offering us a full service salon that’s open 24 hours a day year round (even on holidays!)

After 20 successful years owning a late night salon in South Korea, owner Jihee Kim brought Hair Party 24 Hours to the city that never sleeps. With more than 200 clients a day, the salon finds itself busiest at 6am for pre-work blow-outs and again at midnight for those looking for a relaxing foot bath before bedtime.

Upon entering the salon, I was warmly greeted by the staff who made sure that I was settled with a warm cup of tea before they began. For the next hour and a half I succumbed to the blissful ministrations of Ivana as she managed to soften and smooth my overworked feet and calves with a Korean herb-infused soak, a detoxifying scrub, and a paraffin treatment. I knew I was in heaven when she proceeded with a hot stone treatment for my feet while my hands were massaged before my manicure. During the whole process, she explained each step, which the staff does with everyone. Building strong relationships with their clients is something that the staff takes pride in to ensure many repeat customers (I know I’ll be one of them).
