Decked out in a Fashion’s Night Out t-shirt, her signature color block patterned pants, a glittery green headband, and pink patent leather pumps, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada looks as much a part of her flagship store as the bold designs that line the walls.
The eccentric designer took time out from her busy schedule to celebrate the launch of her latest collaboration: a line of special edition, designer series tweezers for Tweezerman. Though Ruiz de la Prada has hundreds of collaborations under her belt, this marks the first such partnership for Tweezerman, who commissioned the designer to create three unique patterns for their award winning Slant™ tweezers. Available in blue clouds, pink hearts or orange flowers, these funky implements turn even the most mundane of beauty rituals into a fashion forward event. |
Ruiz de la Prada paid homage to her native homeland of Spain at the Tweezerman launch party held in her only US store, where guests listened to traditional Spanish music while sipping sangria and enjoying tapas. At the event, the designer told me that she had so much fun designing for Tweezerman that she didn't want to stop. "It was a big problem, they wanted me to choose only three. I wanted to do a hundred!" she laughed. "That's the part I always hate - having to choose."
