Reem Acra’s Spring 2008 collection was just lovely. The designer paid homage to the female figure and an emphasis on the waist. After seasons dedicated to trapeze and tent dresses (such a shame for not-so-skinny 5’1 ladies like myself) women no longer look as if there 7 months along, but are celebrated for their form. Reem is no stranger to gorgeous design; her expertise is long respected for gowns and eveningwear, with good reason. This spring, her color palette of Marigold, Garden and Aubergine is positively radiant and
will be an easy transition for this fall’s jewel tones. The fabrics of
brocade, Tec Silk, Taffeta and lace further emphasize the female body. Her pieces are not only wearable but worthy of special days from Garden Parties to Galas.

Hair by Gavin Harwin followed suit with lady-like waves falling down the back. The look was pure, soft and again, feminine. Christian McCullouch for MAC relied on soft colors to let the design shine, making the whole look come full-circle.

Love it – The whole collection was gorgeous! I loved the lines, which managed to capture only the most beautiful and celebrated parts of the body. The look was effortlessly flattering. The colors were also brilliant. The twisted chiffon gown in Pearl was a show stealer.

Leave it – Not a thing. Any woman could wear the entire collection.
