Greetings BN readers! Here’s the latest theatrical event landing in our City Pulse column: Intergalactic entertainment, now available for all, off-Broadway at New World Stages. Voca People, which unites a-cappella singing, vocal sounds, dance, and the comedy/art of beat box has changed hosts (so to speak) from the Westside Theatre to its current locale.
After a successful run off Broadway last fall, and garnering plenty of praise from The New York Times, Time Out New York, and even Jimmy Fallon, Voca People’s out-of-this-world performing arts experience features plenty of great tunes you know and love as well as cute, kitschy antics in between songs to keep audiences of all ages engaged. Created by Lior Kalfo and Shai Fishman, the cast consists of pearly white-skinned “creatures” with red ruby lips that have crashed on Earth (in NYC to be exact) and then proceed to belt out boisterous performances in order to re-charge their ship so they can head home.
After sold-out tours in Europe, the Middle East, and South America, Voca People continues to make its mark stateside starting, of course, in the greatest city of all. Performance schedule is Monday, Friday, and Saturday at 8PM; Wednesday and Thursday at 7PM; and Sunday at 5:30PM. New World Stages is located at 340 West 50th Street.
