A couple of decades ago, the term “Urban Decay” created images of cities in decline. Fifteen years ago, when a beauty company named their edgy makeup company Urban Decay, it gave the term a whole new meaning. With a collection of nail polishes and lipsticks in colors like green, purple and blue, and an ad campaign that asked “Does pink make you puke?”, they became a hit with the counter-culture set who loved the atypical colors with names such as oil slick and acid rain. Fast forward to now and the collection still has its edge along with a wider range of products and colors.
TODAY and today only, head to the Sephora on Times Square and celebrate 15 years of Beauty with an Edge with Urban Decay. |
The first lucky 50 people will get a makeover with Urban Decay’s makeup artist, Eric Jimenez, who will also be introducing the new 15 year Anniversary 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Set.
The set contains 15 eye pencils in an eyes-wide-open range of colors, from pale to bright to dark. I’ve been playing with the set and love the creamy pale Midnight Cowboy, which covered my entire lid effortlessly, as well as the dark blue Binge, and brownish red Bourbon. I’ve been lining my lower lid with Asphyxia a wild violet, and for spring will be sporting Mildew, a just-right green which looks great with my red hair. The kit comes in a cool looking, reusable box and includes a sharpener. Separately, the pencils would cost $264.00, but because it’s an anniversary celebration, the whole kit is $92.00. First come, first serve!
