….and they are Happy Birthday; but not to you, or me, but rather to the Bronx Academy of Letters.
We all know of Tony’s rough and tumbled past and how being a chef is what turned his life around. However, it’s his writing and unique style of expressing himself that’s made him one of the ‘it’ guys of today. As a chef, author and television star, no one understands the importance of communicating with a written word better than Tony.
Ten years ago, the Urban Assembly Bronx Academy of Letters opened their doors as a public school to kids in the South Bronx with the single idea that “students who can express themselves clearly in writing will do better in any path they choose in life”
The school’s college prep program is a shining example of what can happen when people care, and has been inspiring and helping kids for ten years with great success.
They need your help. The funds raised at this event help pay for things not covered by the NYC Dept of Education. So please join Anthony Bourdain and Lucky Peach on April 30th when they host the Bronx Academy of Letters 10th Anniversary Celebration.
Amazing tastes will be supplied by Momofuku, Boulud Sud, Prune, Roberta’s, Briskettown, Ludobites, Toloache, Mission Chinese Food and Chez Sardine with desserts by Del Posto, Babycakes, and Momofuku Milk Bar, and cocktails by Jim Meehan.
This will be a Foodie event you’ll savor for years, so don’t miss it!
