Cool and feminine with touches of 70s glam. For Spring 2008, Charlotte Ronson presented frilly tops, high-waisted bottoms and girly dresses in her collection Charlotte Ronson.
Flirt! Cosmetics – a three-year-old line sold exclusively at Kohl’s – made up the faces for the runway. In collaboration with Ronson, Charlie Green, Celebrity Make-up Artist, created a face that mixed the 1970s with 2008. On a fresh face, Green used a little Sweet Surrender – a delicate pink – on the apples of the cheeks with a shimmery highlighter on the top of the cheek bone. On the eyes, Green swept on Silver Fog, a silver eye shadow and left the lower lid untouched. She topped the eye off with mascara. A sheer mango lip gloss was used on the lips to contrast with the standout eye. “A shiny eye and a shiny lip would be too much,” she explains. “Charlotte’s a really cool cat” and they used this palette in order to capture that. “Cute without looking like you had to try,” says Green. With over 250 shades and rotating guest creators (currently it’s Vanessa Minnillo), Flirt! Definitely helps you “get in touch with your inner flirt.”

Three different coifs were on display. The first look was natural. “Center parts and heavy bangs are coming back in and being really strong in fashion right now,” says Angela Greenland, Rusk Education Director. The second was a quick low bun to one side of the head, which took about five minutes to create. The third was “a more fancy,” intricate braid swept around the front of the head. They used Rusk Thick, a thickening spray, and ceramic tools that actually seal the cuticle which protects the hair from the heat and gives it shine, to really give the hair the natural look they were going for.
