CP Book Club: When Mom Deserves a Cocktail

Though I have yet to cross over into motherhood, or even taken the leap of faith into married life, I sympathize with every mother I see whether it be at the supermarket or on the subway (less sympathy for children in restaurants though) trying to tame a hyper kid.

I take my spa days and quiet evenings in bed with a book for granted, while mothers across the country can only find a few minutes of peace a day, in only one room of their homes, the bathroom. Which could very well be the exact room that Lyss Stern and Julie Klappas came up with the idea to write their recently released book, If You Give a Mom a Martini: 100 Ways to Find 10 Blissful Minutes for Yourself.

The book is chock-full of 100 interesting ways to take advantage of any time you have to yourself. With recommendations from Stern and Klappas themselves to celebrities like Kelly Ripa, Cynthia Rowley and Christie Brinkley (who wrote the foreward). So rearrange the Netflix queue to your advantage, slip into Brookstone for a quick massage in one of those giant leather chairs or kick the soccer ball really, really far when playing with the kids.
