conran3.jpg Heat. Passion. Love. There are plenty of things associated with the color red. However, a foosball table isn’t necessarily the first one that springs to mind. Nor is a chair shaped like a bottom, or a minimalist, avant-garde lamp. A trip to the Conran Shop to experience the new Rojo exhibit may change your perception, though. Each piece of furniture featured in the show is painted red and showcases emerging Spanish designers. As red is the color of Spain, the palette seems appropriate.

In addition to the fascinating assortment of furniture on display, the production also features beautifully hand-woven rugs by Nani Marquina (a co-curator of the event). The show will not only offer you a great chance to acquaint yourself with some brilliant new Spanish designers, it will have you seeing red in a whole new light.

WHAT: Rojo Design Show
WHEN: Now until June 8th
WHERE: The Conran Shop, 407 E. 59th Street (at 1st Avenue)
