During Fashion Week, I couldn’t help but notice that at least 5 of the shows that I went to where CND was manicuring models, their Colour and Effects shade Dark Ruby was the star. The chic deep red, almost black shade is dark, but not too vampy.
It all started on Thursday at L.A.M.B. when Roxanne Valinoti used Dark Ruby on short nails to match the lips and dark eyes of the 30′s inspired urban glam look. For a youthful and fun way to wear dark colors, she added two coats of Super Shiny Top Coat to the shade at Milly by Michelle Smith; staying in-tune with the chic, French Gossip Girl style. |
At Malandrino, Angi Wingle created a warm leathery hue by layering Dark Ruby with Copper Shimmer and Super Matte, to play on the Mongolian-nomad inspiration. At Douglas Hannant, she did a simple pedicure of Dark Ruby on the toes but upped the ante on the nails by dabbing on the dark shade with Copper Shimmer to play up the prints and patterns in the collection.

Our favorite way to wear the popular color was at Twinkle by Wenlan where Valnoti brought the purple tones out of the dark shade by topping it off with Super Matte Top Coat to give the nails a “rich, smokey haze.”
To keep you loyal BN’ers looking fashionable all year round, we’ve teamed up with CND to offer 3 lucky winners a bottle of Colour & Effects Dark Ruby and a bottle of their Super Matte Top Coat to create your own runway looks at home.
Simply send an email to Contact@BeautyNewsNYC.com with Vampy Nails in the subject line by Thursday March 11th. Be sure to include your name, telephone number and email address in the email.
