Norma’s, the bright and modern eatery in Le Parker Meridien Hotel is your next go-to spot for that special occasion brunch.
The menu has something for everyone – whether it’s a pimped-out classic or a creative new invention*Norma’s is a place that you can bring your picky friend or so-called “foodie” and have them both raving about the food. There’s a hefty section devoted to pancakes that include a Lemon with Devonshire cream. There’s the requisite egg and omelet fare that includes four different types of Benedict. For those watching your spare tire, there’s granola and the likes, as well. The rest of the menu ranges from Duck Confeit Hash to Fois Gras French Toast. Oh, and if you’re feeling deep in the pockets, then you can order the Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata that will actually set you back $1,000 thanks to the Sevruga caviar served atop.
I opted for the buckwheat crepes with Emmenthal cheese, ham and covered with a fried egg. My dining partner chose the crabcake with habanero peppers and a dill yogurt mustard sauce. Both were sensational.
Alongside the delicious dish are the little things to love about Norma’s – each guest is greeted with a shot of the daily smoothie, the freshly squeezed orange juice that’s kept refilled and the individual French press coffee for each table. The best part is that they take reservations (but the place is not a secret, so make them early). When some of my regular haunts have a 1.5 hour wait each weekend, it’s fantastic that you can sit right down for the most important meal of the day.
