City Pulse

By Ashley Goldsmith

As if we needed another reason to prove just how posh the French are, they’ve gone and created a liquor made from 100% handpicked elderflowers. That’s right, men called un bohemian, bicycle through the alps and gather elderflower blossoms used to make St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur. It doesn’t get any more fabulous than that. With a floral nose and hints of pear, grapefruit and lychee, this all natural liqueur is a perfect way to impress friends at your Labor Day BBQ.

Head over to Bar Milano (323 Third Ave., 212.683.3035) and try the Purgatorio – a blend of St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur, Belvedere Pomerancza Vodka, Aperol Aperitivo, fresh mango puree and hand-extracted lime juice.

Stay cool with this refreshing cocktail:

1 shot St-Germain
¼ shot freshly squeezed lemon juice
Top with champagne

Pour first two ingredients into chilled fluted glass. Top with Champagne. Garnish with lemon twist.
