City Pulse

We’ve styled ourselves in past collaborations by Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf and Roberto Cavalli, but 2008 is the year of the artistic design that is Comme des Garcons. Though the insanely popular mass retailer probably won’t be carrying couture anytime soon, if you line up early (no, really!) you may be able to fight the crowds and get your hands on one of the lines coveted pieces.

This Thursday November 13th, H&M will launch the collection of tailored jackets, polka dot knits and even a “showpiece” coatdress adorned with Victorian ruffles for a shocking $350. But hey, we are talking about Comme des Garcons here, normally priced at thousands and thousands of dollars. With H&M imposing a limit of 2 items per style, there is a chance that you may be able to sleep in a little later and actually snatch up a piece or two.

Log on to www.hm.com to find out which locations carry the line and to view the collection before heading out. Though H&M doesn’t offer online shopping you can at least enter the mayhem with some sort of plan.
