Jewelry designer Ariane Zurcher is not shy about her feelings for the periodic table’s most glamorous element. “There’s a warmth in gold – a depth – I find irresistible,” she has said.
It seems the New York based designer is not alone in her appreciation for the precious metal – her collection of one-of-a-kind, limited edition pieces that combine gold with gorgeous handpicked gemstones and diamonds have earned her an army of devoted fans as well as the coveted 2009 Fashion Group International Rising Star Award in Fine Jewelry.
A graduate of Parson’s School of Design trained in fine arts, Zurcher started out her career in fashion where she worked as a freelancer at design houses in London and New York. It wasn’t long before she was drawn into the world of jewelry, where she has since made a name for herself crafting unique bracelets, earrings, necklaces, brooches, cufflinks and even bejeweled hair pins.
Inspired by primitive art and nature, Zurcher’s jewlery begins with sketches and ends with her signature clasps and fastenings. To check out her exquisite work, visit http://www.arianezurcher.com/.
