City Pulse
June 2009

By Kiki Von Glinow

I first met designer and 3rd generation New York socialite, Esther Nash, at a Bryant Park runway show this past spring. Surrounded by photographers who wanted to capture her wild ensemble, I’ll admit I had no idea who she was, but had to find out. A few weeks later, I was following Nash around during her model casting and run-through before her own runway show at Brooklyn’s spring Fashion Week(end).

Counting designer, model, celebrity expert, boutique owner, stylist, runway show choreographer, journalist and fashion editor among the titles in her bag of tricks there isn’t much that Nash doesn’t do. With the motto “Be seen and be remembered,” Nash does just that. Her garments have been featured in the Sex and the City series as well as the Sex and the City movie and having put on more than 30 runway shows, Nash can count Anna Wintour among her audience members. She’s been obsessed with everything fashion since she was a kid and since then has been on the move non-stop; which, she admits, is the reason she’s still single. She’s spent years building herself up from ground zero and fashion’s elite is starting to take notice.   Her newest line, which features grommeted jackets, fringed denim and midriff bearing “Nash” printed tees, is currently sold at Upper West Side boutique, Allan and Suzi.
