Fashionistas, mark your calendars! We’re not fooling; starting on April 1st, a one-of-a-kind gown designed by Proenza Schouler and inspired by the first anniversary of Lancôme’s fragrance Hypnôse goes on sale on Ebay. The auction runs from April 1st through April 10th and all proceeds will go to Save the Children, the international charity dedicated to improving the lives of children around the world.
Hypnôse’s amethyst color and elegantly-curved bottle are said to have inspired Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler. The floor-length gown, with its silver sequins and purple chiffon overlay, evokes the play of light on glass and showcases the elegance and restraint that has become their trademark. “We were inspired by the bottle. The metallic sequins give the idea of glass,” Lazaro Hernandez told Harper’s Bazaar. “But there is an old-Hollywood feeling to it.”
