Today, April 22nd marks the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day, a special day created to raise awareness and appreciation of the environment. In honor of this special day, green-focused brands and companies everywhere are offering special deals to their customers and will be planting trees and donating money in response to your purchases.

Here’s the rundown on how you can score some green products and make a difference:

emerginC, the paraben-free naturally sourced ingredients skincare line will be planting a tree for every product purchased on their website. Load up on skincare travel kits and some of their 30+ sunblock for your summer vacation. Through the end of April, 10% of proceeds from the sale of their complexion perfection and hydra-repair capsules will go to Environmental Working Group (EWG), a group that works to protect kids from toxic chemicals in everything from our food, water and air. http://www.emerginC.com

Belabumbum, the Brazilian lingerie boutique will be offering 10% off of all of their bamboo made items now through May 5th by entering EARTHDAY2010 at checkout. All purchases also mean that another 10% is donated to the New York Restoration Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring NYC parks, community gardens and open space. Visit http://www.origins.com for a location near you.

Lavera at the Green Shows, is Grand Central Terminal’s luxury eco pop-up bazaar, chock-full of natural and organic beauty, fashion and lifestyle items. One Response to “Earth Day Deals”

moe Says:

I’m wondering why the “bright ideas” article wasn’t included as part of the Earth Day Deals post?

The Ionic “Air Cleaning” light Bulb cleans the air of smoke, odor, dander and pollen and has recently been reduced in price making it one of the best deals going as well as it purifies the air which is a huge help for people who suffer from allergies and hay fever.

The neat thing is that it really works, it cleaned the air in the basement in our house. Being an older home the basement has always had a musty smell.

Within a few hours of installing the Ionic bulb, the house smelled amazingly fresh similar to that nice clean smell after a spring rain.

As a side note, the grayish mold that used to stain the lower edges of the basement walls is now gone and has apparently been dried up by constant use of the ionic bulb.

It eliminated the odors of the old basement and after a few weeks it seemed to eliminate the mold as well.

This product could really do wonders for people with older houses and/or allergies.

It really works.
