City Pulse

By Laura Werling

The makeup look this season at Elise Overland was done by Napoleon Perdis who, along with his team of makeup artists, created a look to go along with the fall collection and the setting of the show: The ice rink outside of The Standard Hotel. The collection was presented on both models and ice skaters, all on the ice. The idea was to make each girl look like an ice princess, luminous and radiant.

The skin was bright, fresh, and clean, using Napoleon Complex Skin Renewal Serum and Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer. The eyes were illuminated with Napoleon’s Crème de la Crème Eyeshadow in Quicksilver, and the lashes were swept with a brown mascara to keep the look light. The cheeks were contoured and highlighted with Cheek to Chic Blush Duo #6 and Light Patrol Luminizer Palette in silver. To complete the ice princess look, the girls were all wearing Napoleon’s Divine Goddess Lipstick in Electra, a light pink, shimmering gloss, perfect for the frosty look.

The hair at Elise Overland’s icy presentation was pulled back in a textured high pony, then braided into a fishtail braid and twisted into a beautiful chignon on the back of the head. The skaters in the show needed to keep the hair out of the way and this was the ideal way to do it. The collection was textured with feathers and brightened with a broad array of colors. There were a lot of varieties of fur and prints included in the collection, and presenting it on an ice rink was a unique and interesting way to display the expressive pieces.
