Now through November 11th, Fancy Nancy the Musical presents a brilliant (that’s fancy for amazing) production to the fanciest of young theatergoers. The Vital Theatre Company, which has been producing professional theatre for young audiences since 1999, gets another rave review for this heart-warming and entertaining show. Based on the bestselling children’s book series by Jane O’Connor and illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser, Fancy Nancy the Musical fills the theatre with laughter, catchy songs and life-long lessons with its book and lyrics by Susan DiLallo and music, lyrics and original orchestrations by Danny Abosch.

Fancy Nancy the Musical is entertaining fun for the whole family and the content is suitable for both boys and girls ages 2 and up (actually, even younger toddlers will find this production riveting and stay put in their seats for the full hour running time – especially if they’re familiar with the characters).

The story follows Nancy and her friends Bree, Rhonda, Wanda, and Lionel, who are going to be performing in their very first show, “Deep Sea Dances.” Nancy is positive, that’s fancy for 100 percent sure, that she and Bree will be picked to be mermaids. When another girl wins the coveted role of the mermaid, Nancy is stuck playing a tree. Find out how Nancy turns what could be a dreary and dull stage experience into a fancy and fulfilling one.

Kids will enjoy a fun interactive musical number as well as getting autographs and pictures with each cast member after the show. Performances of Fancy Nancy the Musical are held at the Vital Theatre’s McGinn/Cazale Theatre.

PERFORMANCES: Additional performances are 5 pm on November 3, 4, 10, 11, and 12.
These shows are in addition to the 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm performances every Saturday and Sunday through November 11, as well as holiday performances on November 6 and 12.
Tickets are $29.50. Premium seats are available for $49.50. For reservations (and Birthday party arrangements), visit, call (212) 579-0528, or visit the McGinn/Cazale box office.
