FarewellSummerimage Summer is winding down to its final days, so let’s send off the last summer holiday with a bang. Don’t know how to spend Labor Day? No worries, BN’s got you covered. Here are a few Labor Day weekend events perfect for you and your girls (or guys).

Enjoy the festivities at the 42nd Annual West Indian American Day Parade & Carnival. This is the city’s biggest parade and celebration. The festival begins with live concerts and events on Thursday, September 3, 2009 and culminates on Monday, September 7th with a Labor Day parade on Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn.

If parades aren’t your thing, then take in a film this weekend. Rooftop Films is viewing ‘Storms Expected” a series of short films, Saturday, September 5, on the open road rooftop above New Design High School. Tickets are $9 at the door or online. Go to http://www.rooftopfilms.com for more info.

Yoga fans can celebrate National Yoga month, this holiday weekend, at the Evolve Music and Yoga Festival. This celebration takes place from September 4 to 6, combining live music, yoga, visionary art and so much more to honor the creative human spirit. For more information, go to http://www.evolvefest.org.
