We can’t help but love cutie pie Zooey Deschanel – those blue eyes, that bang, those pouty lips…just too adorable. And at the Golden Globes, her chignon was just as sweet.

The style, created by Shelley Brien for Pantene, started with a good blow dry. Brien used a large round brush and Pantene’s Heat Protection Spray. When the hair was fully dry, he set the hair with a large barrel curling iron to create big waves.

To keep the curl, Brien says to apply a lighter version hairspray, like Pantene’s Volume Touchable Hairspray, so the curls can be brushed out but the waves stay. For the updo, Brien combed back the hair at the crown and gently pulled it to the sides into a ponytail and secured it with an elastic. He loosely wrapped the hair around the band, secured with bobby pins and then finished the look with a mist of Pantene’s Flexible Hold Hairspray.

A winsome flower or sparkly brooch near the side finishes off the look.

Try this easy-to-create style for your next party or big date and you’ll only need to bat your eyes to win over the room.
