City Pulse

By Allison Warenik-Queenan

The “raw” movement has been gaining popularity in recent years. Raw restaurants have been popping up all over New York City and beyond and now Raw skincare. What is Raw? Raw means “alive”. For a product to be “Certified Raw” ingredients are never heated about 115 degrees as this destroys enzymes and changes the molecular structure of the ingredient, basically rendering it toxic. Stunningly gorgeous (and seemingly never aging) Supermodel Carol Alt is launching her own line of raw skin care products and you can meet her tomorrow to talk about her new line, get an autograph of this beauty legend and grab some samples to try out for yourself.

Carol will be making an in-store appearance at Duane Reade to promote her new line “Raw Essentials“. All of the ingredients are 100% raw, they do not contain petroleum, sulfates or detergents, nor do they contain preservatives, artificial colors or fragrances or genetically modified organisms. This sounds naturally amazing to me and if it’s what keeps Carol looking vibrant, I wouldn’t mind testing it out on my own skin.

Carol’s Duane Reade Appearance:
Thursday, November 18th, Noon: Duane Reade, 8th Avenue at 42nd St, NYC
