City Pulse

By Ali DiEmidio

For all of you live music lovers, there’s finally a music festival coming to NYC – OK, near NYC – this month! Liberty State Park in Jersey City will be hosting the 3-day long All Points West Music & Arts Festival Friday, July 31st, Saturday, August 1st and Sunday, August 2nd.

Each day at All Points West includes great bands, artwork and even comedians, and this year the line-up is sure to please: Friday is headlined by the Beastie Boys, Yeah Yeah Yeah’s and Vampire Weekend, Saturday it’s Tool, My Bloody Valentine and Gogol Bordello, and Sunday it’s Coldplay, Echo & The Bunnymen and MGMT. Each day has over twenty acts with set lists available a few days prior to the shows.

My top three picks that you absolutely can’t miss?
Friday: Fleet Foxes, the Knux and Yeah Yeah Yeah’s
Saturday: Arctic Monkeys, the Ting Tings and Neko Case
Sunday: the Black Keys, MGMT and Lykke Li

Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.apwfestival.com/buy-tickets/, directly from Ticketmaster.com or can also be purchased at the box office the day of each show if they have no sold out already. See the entire line-up, travel information and FAQs at http://www.apwfestival.com/index.php.
