With competitive reality shows like So You Think You Can Dance? and Dancing With the Stars, it seems like America loves watching everyday people (and past-their-prime-celebs) make fools of themselves on the dance floor. Yet we’re all not so quick to twist and shout in front of an audience, despite the fact that dancing is a great, fun way to exercise and is most importantly, good for the soul.

This Saturday night, YogaWorks, one of our favorite yoga studios in Manhattan is hosting a night of booty shaking in their “spectator free” dancing area, appropriately titled Get Your Dance On. For just $20 you can shake it to live music by DJ Dhundee while enjoying wine from HobNob, Divine chocolate, and Katalyst kombucha. That $20 also gets your a free week of yoga at YogaWorks. For those who are already YogaWorks members, entry to GYDO is just $10. All proceeds go to Housing Works, one of our favorite charity organizations in Manhattan.

Stating at 7pm you’ll find two floors of feel good music. First, the main dance space powered by tunes from DJ Dhundee. Second, a relaxing space with plenty of pillows, dijeridoos and cello players to calm and cool you down after shaking it like Beyonce.

Leave the rhinestone encrusted, figure-skating-inspired costume at home and dress to sweat. GYDO is all ages so bring the family because there’s nothing cuter than a 2-year-old shaking their butt.
Tickets for Get Your Dance can be purchased by calling YogaWorks SoHo or at the door the night of the event.
