City Pulse

By Jan Lee

Sometimes $3 beers are just not going to put the “happy” in happy hour for you. You want to relax like a woman should, even if you’re pockets are a little thin. Or maybe you’re just a sucker for a good deal. Anyhoo, here are some City Pulse picks for “girly” happy hours. See you there!

Beauty Bar
231 E. 14th Street

Beauty Bar is home to the original martini and manicures happy hour. For just $10, you get to sip while your nails get shined. Try The Prell (p.i.nk. vodka, Midori, and pineapple juice). And try to get there on October, 4th, 6-8pm to support the fundraiser for the Avon Walk for Cancer organization. $15 donation at the door.

232 8th Avenue

“See and be seen” on Saturdays and Sundays during Liquid Brunch from 2pm to 6pm, where $3 Bloody Mary’s, Screwdrivers and Mimosas are served. And as much as we hope it doesn’t come to this (but sometimes it does), The Desperate Hours are back in effect and offering $5 Desperate Iced Teas from 8pm to 11pm on Sundays.

Flute Gramercy
40 E. 20th Street

One hundred champagnes and sparkling wines by the bottle and glass are offered on the daily, but stop by Flute on any Tuesday for the Champagne Happy Hour (5-8pm), and get 2-for-1 glasses, which range from $10 to $45 each. If Gramercy isn’t your scene, there’s another Flute in Midtown.
