Again, the sea inspired a designer for Spring 2008, in this case it was Pamella Roland. America’s Cup – with its discreet opulence and undeniable style – served as muse for the designer, who showcased nautical inspired high-waisted sailor pants and bold striped tunics, alongside her always stunning day and evening dresses in various neutrals and a few bold colors, including red and orange, splashed in to add visual interest.

Hair for Pamella Roland – think long, WASP-y blonde and stick straight – was by Paul Labrecque while Laura Mercier’s makeup team was led by Louis Soto, National Make Up Artist. Here he tells us about the beachy inspiration for the makeup, which included nude lips (quite a departure from the bold color seen on many runways) and gobs of eyeliner and mascara:

Rolland took a sweet walk on the runway post-show and was joined by her beautiful family, who had been seated front row, to take a bow.
