Brunch is more than an occasion or pleasant outing, but a New Yorker’s right. We put up with the trials of the working week so we can relax on a lovely rooftop while sipping bloody mary’s and nibbling at crepes. Such diversions are necessary to truly relish the glorious city we call home.
While all of that sounds delightful, you may be concerned with the sky-high prices that come with elevated brunching. The rooftop brunch at Hotel Chantelle is all of the above and more (hello, live jazz music…) but with a shockingly low price tag for the atmosphere, food and drink.
Located on the trendy lower east side, the Hotel Chantelle roof is elegantly spread out with a bar in the back and tables decorated with pressed flowers. Attentive servers are there to bring you 92 cent cocktails (yes you read correctly, mimosas, bellinis, bloody mary’s, mint juleps and South of Delancy’s are a mere 92 cents) and you know you’ll be asking for plenty of rounds.
Whether you’re in the mood for more classic brunch fare such as pancakes and sausage or leaning towards crepes, salads or even a PB & J Panini, the food is delicious and artfully displayed. Not to mention probably better and cheaper than your work week lunch.
So go ahead and celebrate the end of the week with good music, company food and drink — you know you’ve deserved it.
